Art Commissions

Your own Amanda Mahony original

There are works that quietly hold a room, and then there are works that quietly hold you. That's what a commission is for.

Amanda paints colourful, textured abstract landscapes. Since starting her art practice in 2019, her work has found its way into homes and collections across Australia and overseas.

The artwork can stand as statement pieces in a hallway, a parents retreat space, a nursery, mark a moment in time and more.

How art commissions work

  1. Say hello

Fill in the form and describe your space, colours, budget, and what’s drawing you to Amanda’s work.

  2. Chat it through

Amanda gets in touch and makes sure she’s got a real feel for your vision. Any follow up questions will happen at this stage, all to ensure the vision is shared for the artwork.

  3. Proposal & deposit

A commission proposal includes the price, dimensions, shipping estimate and timeline. The painting process will commence once a 50% deposit (non-refundable) is settled.

A small mock-up of the artwork will follow for you to sign-off on.

  4. Watch it take shape

At around 80% complete, you’ll see photos or video and can request up to two small tweaks (colour or tone, not a full rework).

  5. Delivered

Once approved, your piece is sealed, varnished and shipped to your door. Most commissions take around 6 weeks from deposit to delivery.

Before you commission
  • Every piece is completely original and never repeated.
  • Share a few of Amanda's pieces you love, plus anything else that catches your eye. It all helps guide the direction.
  • Commissions are inspired by your space and taste, not exact copies of a photo, room, or another artist's work.
  • Spots are limited, so reach out early if you have a date in mind.

Art commission FAQs

Often, yes, especially for larger pieces. It helps visualise size, colour palette and mood. Just mention it in your enquiry.

A great place to start is sharing colours that you are drawn to and also colours that you couldn’t possibly see yourself living with. While Amanda can’t ‘copy’ someone else’s work, she is happy to study the colour, inspiration and composition you send through and incorporate the feel into her own style.

Amanda paints in her own distinctive style and won’t replicate another artist's work or a photo exactly.

No work is too large. Sometimes a space may need a diptych or a salon hang with a combination of smaller works next to larger sizes. Send your wall dimensions, describe your space and Amanda will guide you.

Part of the process is creating a mock up which you’ll sign-off on after the deposit is paid and the commission agreement is settled. At around 80% you can request up to two minor edits if needed, giving you a chance to weigh in before Amanda puts the final touches on the painting.

Yes. This is quoted separately based on size and destination.
