Meet Amanda
Amanda Mahony is an Australian abstract painter who finds inspiration when she is on the road, bushwalking and swimming in her local landscapes of New South Wales. Her artwork is process-based and draws upon the rich visual language of contemporary abstraction. Her paintings negotiate and unify the line between the sky and the land. They are responses to the emotions, solitude, hope and deep gratitude she finds far from the harried city.
Amanda's work has been exhibited in group exhibitions and initiatives with galleries and businesses in New South Wales and Queensland, as well as internationally in the United States. Amanda's artwork has been featured on ABC iview's TV series OPTICS and she has been exhibited as a 2025 finalist in the 'Fairholme Open Art Prize Exhibition’, Toowoomba, QLD. She exhibits regularly at Sydney Road Gallery, an artist run cooperative gallery in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Her work is also held in private collections nationally, Hong Kong, Europe and the United States.

Amanda is a 2023 BFA Graduate of the National Art School and studied traditional and contemporary oil and mixed media techniques at the Milan Art Institute in Arizona. Amanda also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media from Macquarie University. She has a background in marketing and this has given her the skills and experience to devote herself to her art practice.
Amanda runs art workshops and masterclasses for all age groups and often collaborates with bars, cafes, and charities to facilitate custom workshops. She is committed to helping others discover their creative potential and has a passion for art and education.
