Meet Amanda
Amanda Mahony is an emerging Australian landscape painter who finds inspiration when she is bushwalking and swimming in her local landscapes of Kur-rin-gai and the Northern Beaches in Sydney. Her artwork is process-based and continuously evolving. The resulting abstractions often represent the landscape as a place that can be recognisable but also evoke the sensed experience of it.
Amanda's work has been exhibited in group exhibitions and initiatives with galleries and businesses in New South Wales and Queensland, as well as internationally in the United States. Amanda has exhibited in group exhibitions in Sydney over the last six months including; ‘The Undergraduate Show,’ National Art School, ‘Secret Sitter,’ Goodspace Gallery and ‘In The Frame,’ Sydney Road Gallery. Her work is also held in private collections nationally, as well as in Europe and the United States.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the National Art School, Amanda has studied traditional and contemporary oil and mixed media techniques at the Milan Art Institute in Arizona, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media from Macquarie University. She has a background in marketing and this has given her the skills and experience to devote herself to developing her art and creating her own unique style. In addition to her own art practice, Amanda runs art workshops and masterclasses for all age groups and often collaborates with bars, cafes, and charities to facilitate custom workshops. She is committed to helping others discover their creative potential and has a passion for art and education.
